A native of Chesapeake, VA, Luke Walker is currently the Director of Bands at First Colonial High School. Mr. Walker attended Hickory High School in Chesapeake, VA for his high school education. He then chose to attend Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA, where he received a Bachelor of Music with emphasis in Music Education and Special Education in 2014. While attending Old Dominion, Mr. Walker performed in various ensembles including the Wind Ensemble, Brass Choir, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Mr. Walker served as the principal trombonist in the Wind Ensemble, Brass Choir, and Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Walker studied trombone and euphonium under Dr. James Hall and conducting under Mr. David Walker. Mr. Walker is a member of the International Trombone Association, the International Tuba Euphonium Association, Virginia Music Educators Association, and the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association. He has been teaching low brass privately for a decade and has had students participate in All-Region and All-State events. Mr. Walker resides in Virginia Beach, VA with his Boston Terrier, Ben.
